Data structures and algorithms lie at the heart of Computer Science as they are the basis for the efficient solution of programming tasks. In this module, students will study core algorithms and data structures, as well as being given an introduction to algorithm analysis and basic computability.

The first part introduces the syntax and semantics of propositional and predicate logics, natural deduction, and notions such as soundness, completeness and (un)decidability. How you’ll study

Each of these will be used on your modules so you get the chance to learn as effectively as possible. This module introduces you to the main concepts and ideas in the domain of AI and machine learning within a context of its use in the business world. Teaching on the module will be explorative using case studies and emerging research in order to teach and inform on the key concepts. AI and Robotics is not simply about software algorithms and computer hardware as to take a full and rounded perspective it is necessary to regard and be informed about the social impact this technology can have upon society. Within this module we shall also discuss and consider the morals and ethics we need to use in creating a new society in the modern technological age.
